A few of the long-awaited iPhone 12 models have finally been released. The iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro are out, while the iPhone 12 mini and iPhone 12 Pro Max are on their way to release. So, what are the special iPhone 12 features? Let us share what we know so far.
The iPhone 12 has moved away from the iPhone 11’s LCD display and now has an OLED display. This makes blacks blacker and brighter whites and improves visibility from all angles. This also makes the screen brighter, which is helpful on a sunny day. With so much media being consumed on phones, the brightness and vibrancy of the display make for a better watching experience.
Both of the Pro models have a triple-lens camera setup with many features. The iPhone 12 and Mini both have only two and a simpler dual-lens setup. Yet, there are still many improvements from the iPhone 11. One of these is wider cameras for better performance in low light. Others include improved night mode, better cinematic video stabilization and HDR 3. The front camera has also improved, allowing for better Face ID, Night Mode Portrait shots and Deep Fusion. All the specs are outlined by MacRumors.
These are the first Apple Models to include the hardware needed for 5G. 5G speeds work five times faster than 4G. While few carriers and locations have access to it, that seems to be evolving. The iPhone 12 models all have compatibility for it. For now, most 5G networks are still functioning at 4G speeds. If you are willing to make an investment in that for the future when the networks become more reliable, an iPhone 12 may be worth it.
The iPhone has had rounded edges for several models now, but have gone back to the flat edges of the earlier iPhone models. As for screen size, the iPhone 12 Mini is 5.4 inches, the iPhone 12 is 6.1 inches, the iPhone 12 Pro is 6.1 inches and the iPhone 12 ProMax is 6.7 inches. Rather than a glass covering, all have a Ceramic Shield material that is more drop resistant.
Charging Speeds and (Lack of) Wall Adapter
According to Consumer Reports, none of the iPhone 12 models come with a wall adapter or wired headphones. They have a MagSafe integration so you can buy the MagSafe charger for $40. However, to take advantage of that, you have to purchase a 20-watt power adapter to reach a desirable charging speed. That adapter costs $20 at the Apple Store. You can use the standard 5-watt wall adapter from before, but the charging speeds are unimpressive.
If you are looking to upgrade, this might be the time to do it, especially with the variety of sizes being offered between the iPhone 12, Pro, ProMax, and Mini. You can read more about the ProMax and Mini, which are set to be released today. Let us know what you think of the iPhone 12 features!
