For those of us who snoozed through WWDC-2018 (Worldwide Developer Conference) Apple’s largest annual event for developers that took place in early June, don’t fret!
We scoped out all the excitement to catch up on while highlighting our favorites in Apple’s newest developments.
Where Apple tends to announce their newest product launches during WWDC, this year turned out to be a little different. Without introducing a new iPhone or iPad, hardware took the backseat to make way for some exciting news in software. You can watch the keynote video in its entirety here
So, let’s run down the list of new announcements in software – Macworld.uk shared some news on updates for iOS12, macOSMojave, watchOS5, and tvOS12, while beta versions are available to developers now, the rest of us will have to wait patiently until the fall. What we can expect with certainty is that iOS12 is doubling down on performance and improving in speed with faster app launch, faster keyboard display, faster camera slide, and double the speed in share options.
Apple also talked about breakthrough developments in AR’s transformational technology and demoed some of the more playful side of developments in the world of Augmented and Virtual Reality. You will be able to explore more AR experiences in iOS12 on the Apple App Store. And while we are at the topic, we should mention that it is the Apple App Store’s 10th birthday this year. Congratulations!
With iOS12 Siri is becoming more intuitive and in tune with you and your busy life, introducing “Shortcuts”. Get the full preview to better understand the features of Shortcuts and what it has to offer by watching the keynotes, skipping to 0:32:10 .
